APG Newcastle pay a visit to their local RMHC
Tuesday, 3rd July 2018
Our Newcastle team made a visit to the local RMHC. They were shown through the main house and then went over the hospital were they have more general family rooms and self-contained units for the families of premature babies.
The main house has 16 bedrooms and is currently looking for extra funding to expand. The staff are very passionate about the cause and just love their job.
Also meeting the educational officer we learnt more about the school programs that help keep up the education of the kids that are receiving treatment including sending robots into classes that the child operated using remote control from their hospital bed!
It was great to see firsthand were the donations go, and what donations can actually do and achieve in helping kids and families and the whole set up of the house.
The volunteers there need to be commended on the time and effort they put in as well. Was a great experience for everyone.
