CMR Civil Workforce CEO: Skills shortages to threaten major infrastructure projects
CMR Civil Workforce CEO David Stack has called for contractors responsible for the many large-scale state and federal government infrastructure projects to put the right workforce management planning strategies in place to ensure they avoid a critical skills shortage.
Commenting in both Architecture & Design and The Fifth Estate, David noted that contractors in the civil construction and wider construction sector need to plan ahead to ensure their projects aren’t delayed due to skills or staffing shortages. “We have had a large influx of people looking for work but they need to be trained and gain certification in order to work on these infrastructure projects.
