Reflecting on The Last 12 Months
Twelve months ago the world as we knew it was turned upside down, people were fighting over toilet paper, supermarket shelves were stripped bare, we started growing our own vegetables and there was a real fear that we were looking at a pandemic that would change the way we lived forever.
Whilst much of this fear has subsided over time and we are now talking about vaccinations in order to get back to ‘normal’ as soon as possible, the reality is that Covid-19 has changed the way we live, and in some parts – for the better!
Sure, we all miss concerts and nightclubs with thousands of people dancing shoulder to shoulder, and sure we miss the ‘all-you-can-eat’ buffet’s, but from a business perspective there has been some vast improvements.
Twelve months ago, we started working from home to reduce the chances of virus transmission and keep our business operational. Our customers relied on APG Workforce to continue to deliver our Essential employees to their Essential operations – which we did so successfully and with zero exposure to Covid-19.
Overnight our business went online. We were forced to work smarter, use less paper, we became more efficient and more productive. We all learned how to Zoom or use MS Teams and we all empathized with each other’s situation. As we know our VIC colleagues did it really tough in 2020.
We were thankful not to lose ANY customers over the last 12 months and we actually gained new business as a result of Covid-19. We are continuing to diversify as a result of the pandemic and we are continuing to work smarter every day!
We are not out of the woods yet. We are all yet to be vaccinated and we need to make sure we learn from the last 12 months.
Thank you to all our staff, our customers and our dedicated employees for making it though what has been a tough learning period for all. Let us all enjoy returning to freedoms we once took for granted, let’s lose the covid-kilos and let’s tackle the next 12 months with the same determination.
